Twelve days of Student Illness

Students that have accumulated 12 days of student illness will be considered to have excessive absences for student illness.  A letter will be sent to the parent/guardian advising that a doctor’s note must accompany any further student illness absence or the student will be considered unexcused.

Procedures after 12 days of absences

After the parent/guardian has been notified, all further absences for illness must be accompanied by a doctor’s note or the absence will be unexcused, and procedures for Truancy Referral will be followed. 

Students sent home by school nurse

When a student is examined and deemed ill by the school nurse, the student is required to recuperate at home.  These absences will be excused.

Exceptions to excessive student illness         

If a student has obtained a medical diagnosis and has provided the initial documentation to the school a doctor’s note will not be required for absences.

Please remember to call the school office at 973-3150 when your child will not be in school.  Daily attendance is very important. 

Please update your home, work, and cell phone numbers as changes occur.  Also please update emergency telephone numbers as those changes occur. 

 If your child becomes ill or has an injury, they need YOU! 

 Please remember to call if your child will not be at school.
