Before and After School
Latchkey
We have a very special latchkey program at Dodge! Our program is staffed by certified teachers from Dodge so they know the students and families well. They provide a study, reading, and homework time for the kids. Latchkey also serves snacks and enjoys a variety of activities. Latchkey truly strives to balance physical activities such as playing outside, jumping rope, playing basketball and riding scooters with more relaxing activities like watching movies, playing board games and building great friendships! Latchkey always fills up extremely fast, but you are always welcome to join the waiting list. District sites are licensed child care facilities and 100% self-funded.
Who can participate?
Children must be 5 – 12 years of age. 5-year-olds must be enrolled in kindergarten. Enrollment is first come/served. Staffing is based on a 1 to 15 ratio. Wait lists are maintained at each site.
When is it available?
Latchkey is open on days school is in session. We open at 6:30 a.m. and close at 6:00 p.m. which accommodates almost everyone's work schedule.
What does it cost?
- All Latchkey prices are the same: $5 (reduced-price lunch eligible) or $6 (full pay) per day, with a two-day minimum per week.
- A non-refundable $20 registration is paid at the time of enrollment. You are not guaranteed a spot without paying this fee.
- The third and each additional child in each family attending will pay ½ price of weekly fees. Registration is not half price.
- Payment for the week is due at the beginning of the week. A $5 late fee is charged on any balance due on Friday closing.
- Late pickup of your child after closing will result in a charge of $1 per minute per child. ALL sites close at 6:00 pm.
- We accept DCF.
Family Literacy Nights
About once a month, we have a Family Literacy Night. We always enjoy a book that ties into the topic of the evening. Often times, we meet in the Dodge Diner to complete a literacy activity but sometimes we have events in the library, gym, or even outside! We've decorated literacy jars, created conversation placemats, made literacy countdown calendars and much more. We also typically have a drawing for books and prizes. These nights are a lot of fun for both families and staff. We are looking forward to seeing you at our next one! Wondering when that is? Call our front office at (316)973-3150
